August 26, 2015 –ELKO, NV-
On Saturday, November 7th, from 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital will be offering a Laboratory Blood Draw* for a variety of tests at a significantly reduced price. The laboratory tests include general screening for diabetes, liver and kidney function, body minerals, protein and salts, cholesterol and HDL fractions in additional to many others.
“This is the thirtieth year that our hospital, formerly known as Elko General Hospital, has conducted the event because the community response is always so positive. Usually held in September, this year NNRH wanted to try something new and moved the event to the first Saturday of November. Attendees will be also able to interact with health-related booths and receive health, wellness and support group information during the event.” said Hope Cripps, Director of Business/Community Development. The health fair tests are available to everyone age 18 or older, but all ages are welcome to visit the booths.
The basic screening tests, a comprehensive metabolic panel and lipid panel, include:
- Total Protein
- Total Bilirubin
- Alkaline Phosphatase
- Total Cholesterol
- Cardiac Risk Ratio
Optional add on tests:
- PSA = $25
- Vitamin D = $25
- HgbA1c = $30
Cost for basic screening is $25. Additionally, NNRH has added the optional PSA (for men over 40), Vitamin D and HgbA1c tests for $25, $25 and $30 respectively.
*In order to get the most accurate results, participants should not consume any food or drink, except water and prescribed medicines, for at least 8 hours prior to the lab draw.
