NNRH Consolidates Diagnostic Imaging Services
March 26, 2018
A Statement from Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital
regarding the closure of Elko Diagnostic Imaging
Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) is committed to delivering high-quality care close to home for the populations we serve. To do this, we regularly evaluate our services to ensure that they are meeting the needs of our community.
Effective March 31, 2018, NNRH will consolidate all of our radiology services within the Diagnostic Imaging Department at the hospital. The decision to close our Elko Diagnostic Imaging (EDI) location was carefully evaluated, and we are confident it is the right move for our organization and our patients. This change will help us enhance the imaging services we provide the community by allowing us to invest in new technology and equipment solely at the hospital. Consolidating our services into one location enables us to better support our skilled radiologists in delivering the highest level of diagnostic imaging available in northeastern Nevada.
We have restructured our staffing model within the Diagnostic Imaging Department so that many of the employees at EDI can transition to positions within NNRH. Unfortunately, there are two staff members who will not transition to the hospital. We regret that any jobs were lost as part of this change, but we are working to support the impacted staff members through their transition, providing severance packages and assistance.
We are also committed to ensuring a seamless transition in care for our patients. All scheduled EDI appointments are being transitioned to the hospital, and the patient records maintained at EDI will continue to be available at NNRH.
