National Hospital Week celebrates dedication to making communities healthier
May 8, 2014
May 8, 2014 - ELKO, NV
On May 11, the American Hospital Association (AHA) will kick off National Hospital Week. This special, week-long commemoration brings healthcare professionals and their communities together to recognize the work of hospital employees who dedicate themselves to improving the health and wellbeing of people across the country. In northeastern Nevada, Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) will join the celebration.
The first formal observation of National Hospital Week occurred in 1921, and AHA and its state affiliates and member hospitals have carried on the tradition of recognizing hospital employees each year for nine decades.
The theme of National Hospital Week in 2014 is “Compassion, Innovation, Dedication: The Commitment Continues.” This idea is alive and well at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital.
“From our clinical teams to our environmental services, IT and administrative teams, everyone at NNRH exemplifies this year’s National Hospital Week theme every day,” said Gene Miller, CEO. “Our staff shows compassion for our patients, is driven to find innovative ways to improve the care we provide and enhance our patients’ experiences, and is dedicated to going above and beyond in serving northeastern Nevada. We are excited to recognize National Hospital Week here and take time to honor the unwavering commitment of the NNRH team to our patients and community.”
One of the largest employers in Elko, NNRH has more than 325 team members. Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital as it’s now know has been an integral part of the community since 2001 and as Elko General Hospital prior, supporting residents through a range of healthcare services and programs including cardiac care, diabetes support groups, pain management, rehabilitative services, and much more
Mr. Miller added, “NNRH is proud to have been a part of the lives of those in this community for many decades, and we look forward to continuing to find ways to make the communities we serve healthier into the future.”
In addition to the services they provide, Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital staff supports the community in several ways, contributing time, education and resources to organizations such as Relay for Life, Clean Up/Green Up, Ruby Mountain Relay, Head Start of Northeastern Nevada, and many more
Please join NNRH in celebrating National Hospital Week and recognizing the northeastern Nevada residents who help to enhance the health of this region.
