Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital Director wins statewide nursing essay contest!

September 12, 2014 –ELKO, NV- 
As a nominee in Nevada Hospital Associations (NHA) 13th Annual Nursing Essay contest, Debby Lucas, Behavorial Health Program Director at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital won in the category of Commitment/Retention Category by responding to, “I remain in nursing because…”. There were twelve submissions in this category that were redacted of all identifying information and individually scored by five judges. Debby’s essay title was “Taking Pride to the Bedside.” 

Debby received the following: 
• Bouquet of flowers 
• A framed copy of “A Glimpse of the Past Through Nursing.” This is a poster that reviews the history of nursing. 
• An awards certificate and 
• She was honored at the Nevada Hospital Association’s 54th Annual Meeting Awards Luncheon at the Hyatt at Lake Tahoe, on Thursday, September 4, 2014 

Debby will also receive a Ceramic Florence Nightingale Lamp by mail that has the NHA logo.
