ELKO, Nevada – Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital recently donated $7,500 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Elko. Hospital CEO Steve Simpson and his family visited the club building to present the check in person.

“Since arriving in Elko, I’ve been very impressed with the Boys and Girls Club here,” said Simpson. “I wanted to bring my girls along today so they could check out the club for themselves.”

Rusty Bahr, executive director of the club in Elko, provided the family with an impromptu tour of the facility. Afterward, Kelsi Simpson, Steve’s wife, remarked that she was surprised to learn how many opportunities the organization provides for children of diverse ages and interests.

“It’s wonderful to see all that the club has to offer, and it’s clear that they get a lot of support from this community,” said Kelsi Simpson. “That’s one of the reasons we are so excited to move to Elko. You can just feel that the people of this town care about each other.”

Bahr stated that his organization is grateful for the continuing support of the hospital. “NNRH is committed to making our community healthier,” he said. “They demonstrate this commitment when they give back to organizations like Boys and Girls Clubs. Together, we are helping our young people develop healthy habits as they journey on the path to great futures.”
