Hospital donates first aid kits to Elite FC Soccer League

June 25, 2018

ELKO, Nevada – Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital recently donated 40 first aid kits to Elite Futbol Club for use during the soccer league’s co-ed summer season. The kits were valued at a combined total of $620.

“It’s fantastic to see so many young people staying fit and active throughout the summer months,” said Steve Simpson, chief executive officer at NNRH. “These kids are serious about soccer. While most of us are content to sit at home and watch the World Cup on TV, they’re still out here practicing. I’m happy that NNRH can provide the supplies needed to keep them healthy both on and off the field.”

Elite FC was founded in 2011 as a year-round league for boys with travelling teams that compete in tournaments around the region. In 2017, the club expanded to include co-ed, recreational summer play. Over 270 boys and girls from around Elko County now participate.

According to the league’s website, the club strives to train-up “great soccer players” while also producing “better citizens through fair play, good sportsmanship and positive adult role models.”
