Dr. Gunnell and his family are excited to return west after spending nine years in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Gunnell grew up in Southern Idaho and his wife Meisja, (pronounced MYSHAH) called Northern Utah home before they met at Utah State University. They married before moving to Kansas City to pursue Medical Education.
Dr. Gunnell graduated from University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He has focused on intensive study and training in the field of Orthopedics at The Medical Center of Independence for the last five years.
Dr. Gunnell received his training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions of all ages. As a member of the healthcare staff at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, Dr. Gunnell will focus on arthroscopic surgery of upper and lower extremities and joints, fracture management and traumatic injuries, sports injuries, joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip and knee, and occupational accidents or overuse injuries to joints and extremities.
Dr. Gunnell and his wife have four children, Megan, Caden, Matthew and Maloree. They enjoy family recreational activities, spending time with friends and visiting extended family. They look forward to becoming active citizens of Elko County.
Dr. Gunnell will begin seeing patients August 1, 2003.
