Sherry Boluna, RN in Intensive Care Unit - September Service Excellence Award Winner
Sherry’s nomination reads: Sherry is a valued part of the night crew in ICU. We are always happy to see her name on the schedule because she has such a dedication to her work and to the patients. She loves what she does for a living and it shows! Sherry is a true reflection of an excellent nurse and employee. She strives to provide high quality, efficient patient care and is respected by physicians and her peers. She is a team player and a true patient advocate. Sherry takes the extra time to hold a hand, comfort a crying baby, or visit with an elderly client no matter how busy she may be. The number of lives she has positively touched is too numerous to count. Sherry is always willing to pick up an extra shift or come in on short notice, often working more than 7 shifts in a row. She willingly floats to any unit who needs her help, and always with a smile. Her sweet disposition and positive attitude affects everyone she comes in contact with.
Sherry is a role model for new nurses, a comfort to her patients and their families, and is a valuable resource for her peers. Sherry reflects what being a nurse is all about!
