Lynn Pappas, materials management assistant, is the November recipient of the Service Excellence Award. She is pictured receiving her award (center) with her supervisor, director of materials management, Rex Mitchell (right) and NNRH chief executive officer Alex Poirier.

Lynn’s nominator writes, “Recently our department was short a person for 6 weeks. During this time Lynn had several outside commitments that would take her away from work. Each time she had one of these commitments she came in very early and did as much work as she possibly could, so our department was not left with more than we could handle. ….. Lynn is everyone’s backup. When one of us is not there she is the one that picks up the loose ends and makes things work. “

Service Excellence Award candidates are nominated monthly by their coworkers and then one or more is chosen as the winner by a panel of hospital employees. Lynn has been employed at the hospital (Elko General and then NNRH) for just over 22 years.
