Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital Names New CEO

(Brentwood, Tenn.) June 10, 2002 – Officials at Province Healthcare announced today that Alex Poirer has been named as the new chief executive officer at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. Poirier has a broad range of experience in the healthcare industry, including serving most recently as chief executive officer of Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire. Mr. Poirer’s first day at the hospital will be July 1, 2002.

“We are delighted that Alex is assuming this new role,” said Tom Salerno, regional vice president for Province Healthcare. “His integrity, background and experience are perfectly matched with the opportunities facing this community and the hospital. In order to fill this very important position we have conducted a national search to find the right person to lead the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital team. I am thankful to the many hospital employees, board members, and physicians who were involved in the selection process.”

Alex Poirier has more than 10 years of senior leadership experience in hospitals across America. He most recently spent two years as the CEO of an 86-bed hospital in rural New Hampshire. He received an MBA from Ann Maria College, and a BA from the State University of New York in Genesco, New York.
