Christmas Giving: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) employees got into the spirit of Christmas by joining together to raise money to provide Christmas presents and Christmas dinners for three single-parent families in the community. Every year, NNRH Director of Surgical Services Leigh Vandenberg and her department have adopted a family at Christmas time. This year, when other hospital departments and doctors learned about the NNRH Surgery Department’s effort, they joined in to help provide Christmas for three families who have a total of 18 children between the ages of two to 16. “This is what the true meaning of Christmas is all about,” said Vandenberg. “Sharing with those less fortunate.” Pictured above with the Christmas presents for one of the three families are, back row from left, Denise Aguirre-Perry, Nevada Division of Child & Family Services Social Worker; Stacie Henderson, Surgical Department Unit Clerk; Yvonne Moore, Executive Secretary; Janie Wadford, Payroll Clerk; Chantell Bluitt, Executive Secretary; and Naomi Leahy, Social Worker with Child & Family Services. Kneeling in the front row, from left, are Leigh Vandenberg, Surgical Services Director, and Heidi Thompson, Medical Staff Coordinator.
