NNRH Fundraising Effort for Victims of Terrorism

ELKO, NEVADA – As part of nationwide efforts to assist the victims and families of the recent acts of terrorism, Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) has initiated a fundraising effort with employees, Auxiliary members, physicians and other healthcare providers. NNRH will match contributions up to $10,000 and the combined funds will be given to the American Red Cross.

“The terrorism attacks that occurred at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania on September 11 are tragic and beyond comprehension,” noted Hodges. “Events such as these leave many of us wondering what we can do to help the victims and their families who are still suffering. As an organization and a community, we can help by working through the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by contributing donations for the victims and their families who are still suffering as a result of these tragic events.”

NNRH was involved in moving from the former Elko General Hospital to their new facility at 2001 Errecart Boulevard during the week of the terrorism attacks, noted Hodges. The shock and pain of these events was felt throughout the hospital and the new flag in front of the facility was lowered to half mast once the news was received of the tragedy.

The community is welcome to participate in this fundraising effort that will conclude on October 26 and the hospital will match all community donations to this fund drive. Checks or money orders should be made out to the “American Red Cross” and can be dropped off at NNRH or mailed to the hospital at 2001 Errecart Boulevard, Elko, NV 89801.
