Annette has done an exemplary job regarding creating and evolving the OR Admissions Nurse position. The results of her efforts are felt throughout the department in increased efficiency and thoroughness.

She has worked with MSP, Zack, arranging for an inservice to the SDSU staff in order to assist MSP with admissions forms, and willingly offered to assist them by completing their admission forms during the course of her patient work-ups. This will make the transfer process to MSP/ICU/L & D much easier for the floor staff.

Annette is an employee I never have to follow-up on for thoroughness and accuracy. If she says she will do it, I consider it done. Her sensitivity to the needs of her patients is outstanding. She follows through with surgeon office staff to assure the accuracy and thoroughness of preoperative work-ups, assisting the patients with admissions, diagnostic work, and logistical needs.

Anesthesia staff have highly complimented her on the vast improvement her work on admissions has made in their ability to assess and evaluate patients. Her co-workers have complimented her on her organizational skills and their direct effect on SDSU staff workload.

She stays late, assists throughout the entire department if needed, and is always willing to go the second mile with patients and their families. She has increased the postoperative assessment call rate significantly, raising it to over 75% on a consistent basis. Her way of engaging patients and assuring them of her concern for them is admirable.

I am proud and very fortunate to have Annette on my staff.
