ACTIVE PEOPLE SOUGHT FOR HOSPITAL AUXILIARY/VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIP
Auxiliary members can be found volunteering at the front information desk, at the lab reception desk, transporting patients in wheelchairs, interviewing patients concerning their needs and satisfaction of care, magazine distribution, and more.
The Auxiliary’s “Sugar Bush” gift shop, located in the hospital lobby, has many lovely gifts. It is open: Monday – Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm and Monday – Thursday from 3 pm to 6 pm. Volunteers are needed to work in the gift shop. The profits from the gift shop sales go toward purchasing toys for the pediatric patients, baby bonnets for newborns, monthly tray favors, education programs for nurses and other hospital personnel, and miscellaneous patient needs as well.
 The Auxiliary’s “Tree of Life” program has four trees on display on the first floor hallway walls. A fifth tree is on order for the wall by the elevators. Donations to the Tree of Life may be made in memory of, honor of, birth of, anniversary of, etc. These donations are used for nursing student scholarships at Great Basin College.

The Patient Advocacy Program continues to gather information from patients during their hospital stay. This information is of their concerns, needs, and requests. The information is forwarded to Administration and staff so that any problems can be corrected and employees can be recognized for exceptional services as well.
Serving the community through service as a hospital Auxiliary member is a rewarding experience. Volunteering in any of the variety of available places around the hospital is greatly appreciated by the staff.
