John Tyburczy, M.D. - Chief of Surgery
Nancy Cain, M.D. - Chief of OB/GYN
Kevin Dinwiddie, M.D. - Chief of Pediatrics
Robert Stefanko, M.D. - Chief of Emergency Department

*Officers are members of the active medical staff and serve a one, two or four-year term depending on the position(s) they hold. Officers understand the purpose and the function of the medical staff and demonstrate willingness to ensure that patient welfare always takes precedence over other concerns.

Each practitioner that applies through the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) medical staff process undergoes primary source verification of their education and training, a query of the national Practitioner Data Bank, query of the sanctions data bases for the Office of the Inspector General, and verification of their affiliations from the point of latest education to the time they apply. The credentialing process is intense and time consuming, but has proven itself over and over again in ensuring that competent, qualified practitioners are caring for the patients at NNRH. The medical staff is then divided into clinical departments, each represented by a chair. The general functions of a department include conducting patient care reviews for the purpose of analyzing and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of care and treatment provided to patients within the department.
