Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital RN, Robin Bridge, is pictured here receiving the news from CEO Alex Poirier, that Province Healthcare Company executives, his NNRH peers and coworkers named him as 2002 Employee of the Year.

Robin has been a full time nurse for the hospital (EGH / NNRH) for approximately eight years. A nominating coworker writes, “… (Robin) has always been an asset to this facility with his constant ready-to-help attitude and sincerity that goes along with it. He is a hard worker and will consistently pick up extra shifts, stay late or go in early, to help out the hospital…Robin is very proficient at his duties and goes above and beyond in any area he can. He has been a liaison between med/surg and the direct admits coming into the hospital while working in the ER and having his own duties to attend to at the same time.”

Robin has been instrumental in improving patient satisfaction scores by approximately 40% over the past year. His peers regard him as a role model who practices what he preaches! His clinical skills are top notch and he keeps current with nursing practice by keeping up with certifications and other classes specific to the advanced care of critically injured patients.

Robin also volunteers in various hospital activities such as playing Santa at the annual Christmas party, cooking at the hospital picnic and helping the radiology department at the Spring Creek High School Booster Club’s Halloween Haunted House booth.

Robin believes in employee satisfaction as well. Every day he attempts to build a culture for hospital coworkers to help them “feel valued.” As a result, they are inspired to promote quality patient care.

Each Province Healthcare Company-owned hospital elects an employee of the year who is flown, with a guest, to Brentwood, Tennessee. A weekend of award events, tours and entertainment awaits each honoree and guest. Robin said that it was an honor to be recognized, laughed harder than he had in a long time and “probably listened to more country music in one weekend than he had in nearly thirty years.” Winners were also awarded $250 from their own hospitals and 1,500 Province Healthcare Company Stock Options. Robin continues to “pursue excellence” in patient satisfaction scores in his department.

Dennis Moore, Director of Plant Operations, was the 2001 Employee of the Year.
