Hospital Announces Employee of the Year

ELKO, NEVADA – If anyone had the weight of a hospital on his shoulders this past year, it was Dennis Moore, Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) Plant Operations Director, and he actually carried the weight of two. From serving as the “point man” in all issues related to the construction of the first new hospital to be built in Elko County in 30 years to the decommissioning of the former Elko General Hospital (EGH), Moore was instrumental to the success of both.

“We are proud to recognize Dennis Moore for his outstanding leadership while handling the oversight of two hospital facilities at the same time. This required a tremendous amount of dedication, energy and time and his skills at problem-solving and support to the construction manager were exemplary,” said Fred Hodges, NNRH Chief Executive Officer.

“He worked countless hours, frequently going above and beyond the responsibilities of his position, to ensure a successful transition to the new hospital. His loyalty to this organization has made him an exceptional team player who is well respected by the hospital staff.”

Moore joined the Elko General Hospital (EGH) team as a facility engineer in 1994. He was promoted to Director of Plant Operations in 1998 with responsibilities for engineering, housekeeping and security.

“It is an honor to be recognized by my co-workers as the Employee of the Year,” said Moore. “However, I would not have been able to do what I have done this past year without a great team beside me. We all worked hard and I am proud of this new hospital that has been built to serve the citizens of northeast Nevada.”

Every year Province Healthcare asks each hospital in the Province family to choose an Employee of the Year. The employees of NNRH nominated candidates from among their peers who has done a great job by consistently going beyond the call of duty and exceeds the requirements of their job and the needs of the hospital’s patients. Following the selection, an Employee of the Year and one guest from each of the 18 hospitals in the Province Healthcare system are invited to a celebration in Nashville, Tennessee where they are honored as the most outstanding employees the company.

Moore is known for taking the same commitment and care that he puts into his work also into his family and working at the hospital is a family affair. His wife, Yvonne, also works at NNRH. Dennis and Yvonne have two daughters: Stacie Henderson and Kristie. Stacie works as an Operating Room Scheduler at the hospital but more importantly she is the mother of Moore’s two grandchildren who were each born in one of the two Elko hospitals. Granddaughter Kelcie was born at EGH on September 9, 1999. A month after Moore assisted with moving the hospital operations to NNRH, his first grandson, Hunter McShane Henderson, was born on October 4. Kristie is employed by Jensen Jewelers in Elko.
